From the 15th to the 20th June, 11 cyclists have decided to take part in the first HOSPICE Bike Tour. This was the first international event organized by HOSPICE Angelus, with the aim of raising funds as well as awareness about palliative care services as the Tour aimed to link HOSPICE Angelus Moldova, from Chisinau, to HOSPICE Casa Sperantei in Bucharest, passing by Brasov.

After several weeks of intensive training, our cyclists took off from the HOSPICE Angelus office, on Str. Alexei Mateevici, in the early morning of the 15th of June, and arrived in Husi in the beginning of the afternoon. The next stops were Adjud and Târgu Secuiesc. On the 4th day, we arrived at the Brasov HOSPICE Casa Sperantei centre that our cyclists had the occasion to visit. The next day was the last and the toughest stage as around 170km had to be ridden to arrive in Bucharest, and they did it, for a total of 563km crossed in five days: they did it! The Bucharest HOSPICE Casa Sperantei centre welcomed our cyclists with a small reception and a visit of these wonderful facilities opened in 2014.

The first HOSPICE Bike Tour was a huge success as they all already thought about the second edition once we arrived in Bucharest. We managed to raised around 15 000 EUR that goes directly to the provision of palliative care services to children and adults suffering from incurable diseases.
